We’re thrilled to share the success of our second annual 12-hour Indoor Triathlon, held on Tuesday 21st October at the Huntingdon Delta Hotel by Marriott.
This year’s event brought together 40 participants, each cycling, swimming, running or walking in 30-minute slots throughout the day, keeping all three stations moving from 8am to 8pm.
But it was more than a fitness challenge. The triathlon created space for conversation, connection, and community support. Members of the HCCN team were on hand all day, speaking to people about our services, running a raffle, raising awareness, and welcoming new faces who are now planning to access support.
The first trio to kick off the challenge included Dom, one of our Trustees, Jane, a nurse from Woodlands, and Rod, one of our seasoned fundraisers. Throughout the day, we were proud to see members of the nursing team take part, as well as Graham, our Trustee, and Ste, our Patron from Black Cat Radio.
A huge thank you to everyone who came down, joined in, cheered, and supported the day, you helped create something truly special. An extra big thanks to the hotel team, especially the leisure team, who wore HCCN t-shirts with pride and gave us a warm, enthusiastic welcome. The entire team at Delta Hotels were fantastic from start to finish.
Together, We Raised over £7,500
We’re delighted to confirm that the total raised was £7,546.50, with 247 supporters donating through JustGiving, and many more contributing on the day through the raffle and in-person donations
This year’s total has already surpassed last year’s incredible £5,588 and donations are still coming in.
“It’s been a fantastic day full of energy and heart,” said Sarah from HCCN. “We spoke to people who hadn’t heard of us before, and by the end of their chat, they were asking how they could join a class or access support. That’s what it’s all about.”
We are incredibly grateful to Delta Hotels by Marriott, Huntingdon for once again donating the venue free of charge, and to everyone who took part, donated, or supported the event in any way.
The funds raised will go directly towards supporting adults aged 18+ in Huntingdonshire living with or beyond a cancer diagnosis, funding services such as emotional support, gentle movement classes, and wellbeing activities.
There’s Still Time to Support
