We’re incredibly proud to share that our team of 11 amazing runners raised an outstanding £13,174.94 at the Cambridge Half Marathon this March.
Each runner had their own reason for taking part, from first-time runners to returning fundraisers, including nurses and members of our local community. Many were running in memory of loved ones, or to give back after experiencing the support HCCN provides.
At a time when fundraising is declining across the UK, this achievement is especially meaningful 💙

We were delighted to see this incredible effort recognised in the Hunts Post, with a front page feature and a full page inside the paper.

It’s wonderful to see the impact of our community being shared more widely.
Stories Behind the Miles
Every runner had a personal story behind their journey, reflecting the strength, connection and compassion at the heart of HCCN.
“Running a half marathon is a real challenge to me… I hope by raising funds it will enable the charity to continue to offer the invaluable support they provide.” – Mel
“Each mile I run will remind me of the strength of the patients and families I’m there for…” – Grace
“After my dad was diagnosed with lung cancer… I saw first hand how vital charities like HCCN are…” – Hannah
Many more of our runners shared their personal reasons for taking part, each one just as powerful.

A Moment to Celebrate
On 24th March, members of the team came together for a special cheque presentation and celebration event.
While not all runners were able to attend, it was a chance to reflect, reconnect and share the stories behind their fundraising journeys, marking what was a truly special achievement for everyone involved.
We’re also very grateful to Delta Hotels by Marriott Huntingdon for hosting us so warmly.
