Exciting News: HCCN Awarded Macmillan Grant to Boost Online Support

Jun 10, 2025 | Latest News

We’re absolutely thrilled to share that Hunts Community Cancer Network (HCCN) has been awarded a generous grant of £14,860 from Macmillan Cancer Support.

This vital funding will allow us to take the next big step in transforming our digital presence—with the aim of making it easier than ever for adults in Huntingdonshire living with or beyond a cancer diagnosis to find the support they need, when they need it.

At the end of May, we launched a newly refreshed website, part of a wider rebrand that included a new look and feel for HCCN. Our goal was to create a calmer, clearer, and more welcoming space that reflects our values and helps visitors quickly find information on our services, activities, and support options.

And we won’t stop there. This Macmillan grant means we can now build on that foundation—developing a more seamless user journey, integrating new tools (like a class booking system), while continuing to improve accessibility for everyone who visits our site.

Looking ahead, we’re also planning to introduce regular blogs focused on “mood, move, and food”, the three pillars that guide so much of our work. These future posts will bring together insights from trusted professionals we already collaborate with, alongside voices from beyond HCCN who share our ethos. Every piece will reflect our commitment to providing supportive, evidence-based information, something we’ll continue to champion across both our blog and our growing Information & Resources section.

Everything we do is about helping people feel informed, connected, and empowered and this funding helps us do just that. Whether someone is newly diagnosed, adjusting to life after treatment, or simply looking for ways to support their wellbeing, we want our website to be a place they can turn to with confidence.

Thanks to this grant, we can improve how people access information, sign up for activities, and stay engaged with their local support network. It means fewer barriers, more clarity, and a stronger sense of belonging, because no one should feel they have to navigate cancer alone. It’s all part of helping people live their best life, despite cancer.
