The NEXT PATIENT CONFERENCE will be held via Zoom on Tuesday 16th November 2021
We hold two conferences a year for patients, their families and friends. These are free to attend and designed to empower you with appropriate information in the world of cancer.
Our aim is to keep you up to date with information on cancer research, knowledge and care, emotional well-being, diet and exercise. All talks are delivered by experts in their fields. They are interactive and relaxed with plenty of opportunities to share your experiences with people who understand.
The conferences are usually held in the Cromwell Suite at Huntingdon Race Course but during COVID we have been holding them on the Zoom platform. Please contact us if you feel unsure about the use of this technology as we can help!
Jan Davis, Chair of HCCN Trustees “Welcome and introduction”
Dr Rebecca Fitzgerald from Addenbrookes Hospital “The development and use of specialist diagnostic techniques for cancer – the oesophageal cyto-sponge”
Rebwar Hussein from Healthwatch, Cambridge and Peterborough “Who are Healthwatch and what do we do?”
Judy Benns, nurse specialist in sexual health. Co-author of “Intimacy, Sex and Relationship Challenges Laid Bare Across the Lifespan” “Cancer and Sex”
Darren Lander from One Leisure Active Lifestyles, Huntingdon. (His team are running exercise classes for HCCN) “Pre and Post habilitation exercises, an interactive presentation”
We would very much like to make sure that we are answering YOUR questions and not just using our own ideas, so if you have any particular questions or needs that need addressing in future conferences – please send them to this email address :- firstname.lastname@example.org (conference coordinator) and we’ll do the best we can to answer your needs.
