We are incredibly grateful to have been selected by NFU Mutual’s Huntingdon Agency to receive a generous donation of £7,899 through the NFU Mutual Agency Giving Fund.
This funding will help us continue the delivery of weekly Get Active Pre-hab and Re-hab sessions across Huntingdonshire, ensuring more people can continue accessing safe, supportive exercise throughout their cancer journey.

Visiting Our Get Active Session
Recently, representatives from NFU Mutual’s Huntingdon Agency joined us at one of our weekly Get Active sessions in St Neots, where they met participants, presented the donation and saw first-hand the difference these sessions make to adults living with or beyond a cancer diagnosis.
The visit was a wonderful opportunity to share more about our Get Active programme and demonstrate how specialist exercise can help people prepare for treatment, rebuild strength afterwards and improve their overall wellbeing. It also gave us the chance to thank the team in person for their generosity and support.
Supporting Adults Before, During and After Treatment
Our Get Active sessions are specially designed to help adults prepare for cancer treatment and rebuild strength afterwards through safe, specialist-led physical activity.
Whether someone is getting ready for surgery, recovering from treatment or looking to regain confidence in their body, these sessions provide a welcoming environment where participants can move at their own pace, improve their wellbeing and connect with others who understand their experience.
Our Get Active sessions take place across Huntingdonshire in a variety of welcoming community spaces. Many of these are offered through our weekly drop-in groups in Sawtry, St Neots and at the Lady Olivia Centre in Brampton, giving members regular opportunities to enjoy gentle, supportive movement alongside others who understand their experience.
We also provide specialist exercise classes held at One Leisure centres, with no One Leisure membership required to take part, as well as other movement-based activities throughout the week. For full details of our current Get Active programme, please see our Activities Timetable:
As part of our Move, Mood, Food approach, physical activity plays an important role in helping people improve their quality of life, reduce the impact of treatment and regain independence.

Making a Difference Locally
The donation has been made through the NFU Mutual Agency Giving Fund, a national initiative that will distribute £2.33 million to frontline charities across the UK during 2026.
Each local NFU Mutual agency is invited to nominate a charity making a positive difference within its community, helping ensure funding reaches organisations delivering essential support where it is needed most.
We are honoured that NFU Mutual’s Huntingdon Agency chose to nominate Hunts Community Cancer Network in recognition of our work helping adults across Huntingdonshire live well with and beyond cancer.
Their generous support will help more people access Get Active sessions close to home, enabling individuals to prepare for treatment, rebuild strength afterwards and improve their physical and emotional wellbeing throughout their cancer journey.
Why This Matters
Hunts Community Cancer Network provides evidence-based wellbeing services that help adults across Huntingdonshire live as well as possible before, during and after cancer treatment.
Today, we support more than 780 adults through a growing range of services, including Get Active classes, support groups, counselling, complementary therapies and practical information. As more people are living with and beyond cancer, the need for accessible community support continues to grow.
Physical activity is recognised as an important part of cancer rehabilitation, helping people maintain strength, manage the side effects of treatment, improve emotional wellbeing and regain confidence. Our Get Active sessions provide a safe, supportive environment where participants can exercise at a pace that suits them, alongside others who understand the challenges of a cancer diagnosis.
Thanks to this generous donation, more adults across Huntingdonshire will be able to access tailored exercise classes closer to home, helping them stay active, build resilience and feel supported throughout their cancer journey.
Thank You
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to NFU Mutual’s Huntingdon Agency and the NFU Mutual Agency Giving Fund for their generous support and for recognising the importance of community-based cancer wellbeing services.
This donation will help us continue delivering evidence-based activity sessions, ensuring more adults living with or beyond a cancer diagnosis across Huntingdonshire can access welcoming, evidence-based support close to home.
Support from organisations like NFU Mutual helps charities like ours continue to grow, reach more people and respond to the changing needs of our community.
Together, we are helping adults build strength, improve wellbeing and move forward with confidence, one step at a time. 💙
