Who We Are

The Huntingdon Community Cancer Nursing Team works in partnership with HCCN to provide expert, compassionate care for adults affected by cancer.

We understand that cancer can be overwhelming—not just for individuals but for families too. That’s why we provide specialist home-based support, helping patients manage treatment, symptoms, and recovery with dignity and independence.

Based out of Hinchingbrooke Hospital, we work across 29 GP surgeries to deliver care in the community, helping patients remain at home, stay active, and continue working where possible—all while living with active cancer.

“Our goal is simple: to support you and your family, ease the challenges of treatment, and help you take back control of your life.”

What We Do

We work alongside hospitals, GPs, and other healthcare providers to deliver care that fits your needs.

Supporting You Every Step of the Way

  • Symptom Management – Expert guidance to manage treatment side effects and improve day-to-day comfort.
  • Hospital Transition Support – Helping you return home as soon as possible after hospital stays.
  • Family Guidance – Providing emotional and practical support for both patients and their loved ones.
  • Home Visits – Bringing professional care directly to your doorstep.
  • Active Cancer Treatment at Home – Delivering certain cancer treatments in the comfort and privacy of your own home.
  • Preventing Unplanned Hospital Admissions – Keeping you symptom-free and supported at home.

Through our work, we aim to reduce stress, increase independence, and ensure you have the care you need—when and where you need it.

Connection to HCCN

While our nurses provide clinical care, HCCN, the charity, plays a vital role in funding the additional support that makes a real difference.

HCCN helps bridge the gap by funding:

  • 💙 Additional nurse training and specialist equipment.
  • 💙 Access to rehabilitation and exercise classes to aid recovery.
  • 💙 Wellbeing workshops and therapies to support emotional resilience.
  • 💙 Nutritional advice and practical support to help you live well with cancer.

This partnership allows us to offer a truly holistic approach—ensuring both clinical and emotional support for those who need it.
