Welcoming Our New Patron: Ste Greenall

Celebrating 2,000 shows and a deep commitment to local community

We’re delighted to officially welcome Ste Greenall, radio presenter and community champion, as a new patron of Hunts Community Cancer Network (HCCN).

If you live in or around St Neots, chances are you’ve heard Ste’s voice brighten your mornings on Black Cat Radio’s Full English Breakfast Show. This Thursday, Ste celebrates a remarkable milestone—his 2,000th broadcast, marking over eight years of dedication, community connection, and early morning starts.

But beyond the microphone, Ste has quietly been a powerful supporter of HCCN for years. He’s hosted us on his show, helped raise awareness of our work, and always made space for community stories that matter. Now, we’re thrilled that Ste is stepping into a more official role, helping to spread the word and support even more adults living with or beyond a cancer diagnosis in Huntingdonshire.

A Natural Fit

Ste’s own words reflect why this partnership feels so meaningful:

“I’ve had some marvellous guests, played some great music, broken some big stories—but above all, helped to create a radio community which is so precious and so vital to the town of St Neots.”

That sense of community is something we share at HCCN. Whether it’s through a drop-in coffee morning, a friendly support group, or a wellbeing session, we believe no one should face cancer alone. Ste’s voice and values align beautifully with our mission.

About Ste

After a career in accountancy, PR, and football—where he once joked he was headhunted by Delia Smith—Ste retired three years ago and has been busier than ever.

As the voice behind Black Cat Radio’s weekday breakfast show for nearly eight years, Ste has become a familiar part of mornings in St Neots. His lively blend of music, news, interviews, and community updates has earned him national recognition—including being named Male Presenter of the Year at the Community Radio Awards in 2023.

Ste first moved to Cambridgeshire in 1987, enjoyed ten years with Cambridge United and Norwich City, and now calls St Neots home. He’s been married to Ailsa since 1986, recently joined the local golf club, and loves good food, a great glass of wine, and time with his son Ben and daughter-in-law Liv.

He’s supported HCCN on air many times, and was truly honoured when invited to become a patron.

💙 Please join us in congratulating Ste on 2,000 shows—and in welcoming him as a patron of HCCN. His voice has brought light and laughter to so many mornings, and we can’t wait to see what we can achieve together in the months and years ahead.
